WEDDINGS

The Old Stone House offers both wedding ceremonies and receptions in its private and enchanting gardens, conveniently located just 30 minutes from Canberra. 

Each wedding is created to suit you as a couple whether that be a big party with all of your family and friends, a playful brunch with lawn games, or a relaxed dinner with a low-key after party. Please note that our minimum guest numbers are 50 people and our maximum guest numbers are 90 people.

Your dogs are welcomed and encouraged to share your special day with you. Your fur-babies are able to join you on the condition that they are supervised at all times (we don’t want them tucking into the wedding cake or sneaking out of the grounds). If you are looking for someone to take care of your dogs during your time with us we can highly recommend Guest of Honour Pet Chaperones.

Love is love and the Old Stone House believes there is no right or wrong way to celebrate a wedding. Let us help you to think outside the box and plan the wedding that best fits you.

Our wedding season is between the start of October until the end of April. We do not offer Winter weddings as the gardens are too bare and the weather too cold during those times.

CEREMONY & RECEPTION

This package includes:

  • Seven hours of site hire for the ceremony and reception beginning upon your guests’ arrival and concluding by 11pm

  • An elegant white marquee with cotton linings measuring 9x12m erected on the top lawn for receptions

  • One night’s accommodation in all four guest rooms for the night of your wedding with early check in 1 hour prior to the wedding and a check out of 10am

  • Access to the property the day before the wedding for a ceremony rehearsal for up to 10 people and one hour in duration

  • Ceremony chairs and signing table

  • Reception tables and chairs

Receptions can take any form be that brunch, lunch, afternoon tea, or dinner. For added flexibility to suit your tastes and budget, all couples have the option to hire any professional caterer for your wedding. Caterers that we have loved working with in the past include Mr. Papa, Bella’s Feast, Nibble and Nourish, the Lazy Grazer, and Wandering Wood Fire Oven.

THINGS TO NOTE:

  • The Old Stone House is dog-friendly for weddings, but unfortunately dogs aren’t permitted in the house and cannot stay overnight

  • The minimum number of guests for this package is 50 people and the maximum is 90 people

  • All weddings must conclude by 11pm

  • This package is available on selected Saturdays between October-April

  • The Old Stone House is a licensed venue so guests aren’t permitted to bring alcohol on site, including the accommodation

CEREMONY ONLY

This package includes:

  • Three hours of site hire for the ceremony beginning upon your guests’ arrival and concluding by 11pm

  • An elegant white marquee with cotton linings measuring 9x12m erected on the top lawn for weather protection

  • Access to the property the day before the wedding for a ceremony rehearsal for up to 10 people and for one hour duration

  • Ceremony chairs and signing table

  • Outdoor lounges and a scattering of wooden tables and chairs set up in the marquee 

This package is designed to be enough time for the ceremony with photos in the gardens afterwards while guests mingle with drinks from the bar before moving on to another location for the reception.

EXTRA SPECIAL TOUCHES

The Old Stone House believes that flexibility is the best thing that we can offer couples to make sure that your wedding day is truly a reflection of your wants and needs. The following are just a few things that we offer for our weddings:

  • Your dogs are welcomed and encouraged to share your special day with you because we know how special your fur-babies are

  • Confetti is allowed as long as it is biodegradable - paper or flowers only, no foil or plastic

  • The team at the Old Stone House is responsible for the set up and pack down of your event so you won’t have to lift a finger

  • Numerous consultations with Rachael, your event coordinator, are provided to perfect all the details for your special day

Optional extras available free of charge include:

  • White or multi-coloured pastel bunting strung in the marquee by request

  • Lawn games including pétanque, giant Jenga, ring toss and Finska.

COMPLETE PACKAGED WEDDING

We have teamed up with a celebrant, photographer and caterer to create the complete packaged wedding. This packaged was designed with fun, elegance, simplicity, and affordability all in mind. Upon booking all you will have to consider is your guest list and invitations - our experienced team will take care of the rest. It couldn’t be easier to get married. This package includes:

  • Private location at the Old Stone House of Bungendore for five hours with up to 90 guests

  • Celebrant, Julie Rattenbury, will help you to create and officiate your ceremony - she has you covered with a personalised ceremony and all legal work taken care of

  • Photographer, Jerusha McDowell, will take photos for four hours and present edited photos to you within six weeks

  • PA system with microphone to play music throughout the event - just send us through a playlist

  • Ceremony chairs for up to 32 people, signing table and cloth

  • Reception furniture scattered under the elegant white marquee with tables decorated with beautiful dried flower arrangements and cloth table runners

  • Picnic-style spread provided by local caterer, Bella’s Feast

  • An allocated bar tab, based on the number of guests

  • Extra tables for wedding cake and food

  • Assorted lawn games for all to enjoy

  • One hour of rehearsal time prior to the wedding

ELOPEMENTS

We understand the desire for a wedding that is intimate, relaxed and hassle-free which has lead us to create two packaged elopement-style weddings. Little Weddings and Teensy Little Weddings are the solution for those wanting a small wedding or vow renewal that doesn't involve leaving friends and family behind.

These packages let you gather your nearest and dearest to celebrate your wedding in the privacy of our beautiful gardens where you will be married by celebrant Julie Rattenbury and have photos taken by photographer Tracy Lee. 

Couples have the option to include food and beverages for their little reception. Alternatively, you can head to a venue in Bungendore for brunch, lunch or dinner to carry on the celebrations. Please visit the Little Weddings website  to find out more information and request a package.
